Job Description

Leads WFP’s nutrition and diet analytics teams, directing evidence generation on dietary quality, food affordability and micronutrient risks. The post guides research, data integration, partnerships and dissemination so that governments and WFP programmes can use robust analytical products, interactive tools and policy recommendations to improve nutrition and food-system decisions.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Lead the MIMI and SAN analytical and evidence-generation teams
  • Provide quality assurance for analytical methods, findings and responsible use of AI and machine learning
  • Direct data-source integration and development of dietary vitamin and mineral deficiency and affordability indicators
  • Advise WFP nutrition leadership on analytics, risk analysis, forecasting and targeting opportunities
  • Lead strategic engagement with national stakeholders, academia and technical partners
  • Manage donor relationships, budgets, resource allocation and multidisciplinary team performance
  • Translate analytical outputs into decision-focused visualisations and evidence-to-policy strategies
  • Represent WFP nutrition and diet analytics at academic and technical forums

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in Nutrition or Food Science or Public Health with a major in Nutrition
  • At least eight years of professional experience in nutrition analytics
  • Be fluent in English at level C
  • Have intermediate knowledge of a second official UN language or Portuguese at level B

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with large-scale food fortification or local food solutions is an advantage
