Job Description

Supports UNICEF's Logistics Unit with shipping, freight, customs clearance and in-country supply operations. The associate coordinates partners and government authorities, tracks offshore shipments and manages clearance documentation, bonded stock and handovers. The role helps maintain compliant, timely delivery of supplies while providing practical shipping guidance and operational reporting to programme staff and management.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support customs-clearance and shipping activities
  • Plan and monitor supply-chain operations and performance indicators
  • Manage documentation and correspondence for offshore supplies
  • Coordinate air and seaport clearance with partners and authorities
  • Track bonded stock, goods in transit and direct handovers
  • Provide country-specific shipping guidance on packing, routing and transport
  • Monitor Model 19s, GRNs and waybills in monthly tracking
  • Prepare shipment-status information and facilitate logistics payments

Role Requirements

  • Secondary education in a related field
  • At least seven years of relevant professional experience in operations, supply management, contracting, logistics, supply chain management, procurement, customs clearance, shipping, freight forwarding, inventory management, vendor management, government liaison or import-export activities
  • Fluent English
  • Ability to plan and organise effectively, apply technical expertise and maintain accountability

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with international organisations, customs clearance, freight forwarding, ERP systems, government authorities or supply planning
  • Relevant country-level experience in development, fragile settings or humanitarian contexts
