Job Description

Manages complex UNICEF supply chains in Nicaragua across planning, procurement, contracting, logistics, warehousing and inventory. The associate supervises specialised work, resolves difficult client cases, strengthens national systems and improves emergency delivery mechanisms.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Develop supply plans, monitor demand and coordinate end-to-end delivery
  • Manage complex procurement cases, solicitations, evaluations and contracting
  • Coordinate logistics, transport, customs, warehousing and distribution
  • Maintain inventory controls and accurate supply-chain records
  • Manage vendor performance and resolve difficult client service cases
  • Supervise specialised supply and logistics work and support team development
  • Strengthen national supply systems, financing approaches and partner capacity
  • Improve emergency preparedness and alternative delivery mechanisms

Role Requirements

  • Completion of secondary education
  • At least seven years of relevant experience in supply, procurement, contracting, logistics or administration
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and enterprise resource-planning systems
  • Fluency in Spanish and English
  • Valid Nicaraguan visa or work permit documentation where applicable

Desired Criteria

  • Professional courses in supply chain, procurement or logistics
  • Experience with the United Nations or UNICEF systems
  • Experience in warehousing or acquisition-framework management
  • Knowledge of another official United Nations language or a local language
