Job Description
Supports UN-Habitat’s Events Unit in managing host-country relations, diplomatic protocol and high-level engagement. The role maintains links with government, United Nations and external partners; coordinates official correspondence, events and visits; tracks policy developments; and provides communications, data and liaison support that advances sustainable urban-development priorities.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Maintain working relationships with host-country authorities, diplomatic missions and United Nations entities
- Support compliance with Host Country Agreements, memoranda of understanding and diplomatic protocols
- Track policy, regulatory and operational developments affecting host-country relations
- Prepare Notes Verbales, official letters, aide-mémoires and briefing notes
- Draft speeches, press releases, talking points and meeting reports for senior officials
- Coordinate high-level visits, bilateral meetings and institutional events
- Manage external queries and timely follow-up with government and United Nations counterparts
- Supervise team members and mentor junior staff in protocol and liaison practices
Role Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in liaison, protocol, external relations, public affairs, communication or related fields supporting senior management
- Experience in policies, procedures and operations concerning privileges administration in the United Nations system or a similar organisation
- English
Desired Criteria
- Experience within the United Nations Common System or a similar international organisation
- Experience drafting, reviewing and editing official correspondence in an international organisation
- Experience in data analytics or a related area
- Supplementary training in international relations, law, public administration, diplomacy, foreign affairs or business administration

- Position is locally recruited in the country or commuting distance of the office
