Leads protection-programme implementation for IOM Costa Rica, coordinating partners, budgets, capacity-building and reporting while mainstreaming protection and GBV response across country-office projects in line with donor and organisational requirements.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate project implementation and adjust work plans to changing field conditions
  • Research and analyse developments, reports and legislation relevant to the project
  • Monitor budget expenditure and maintain records of approved project budgets
  • Coordinate financial, administrative and technical project activities with donor requirements
  • Plan and deliver capacity-building workshops for internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain liaison with authorities, UN agencies, partners, donors and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate reports, briefing notes, presentations and correspondence
  • Mainstream protection and GBV response across country-office projects
  • Supervise, guide and train reporting staff

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant social-science, migration, human-rights or legal field with five years of relevant experience, or high school diploma with seven years
  • Experience liaising with government authorities, institutions, UN agencies and non-governmental organisations
  • Fluency in Spanish and English
  • Valid residence and work permit for Costa Rica
