Scientific Associateship (Theoretical Physics)

CERN offers a Scientific Associateship in Theoretical Physics in Geneva for an established scientist with an existing CERN relationship to pursue advanced theoretical particle-physics work, collaborate with CERN theory teams and contribute senior analytical expertise to international research programmes.

• Conduct theoretical particle-physics research in CERN's scientific environment
• Contribute to theoretical-physics programmes and related research activities
• Engage with CERN theory teams and scientific programmes
• Bring established expertise to advanced research and international collaboration
• Apply high-level analytical and theoretical reasoning to complex scientific questions
• Share knowledge and communicate professionally across the research community

• Status as an established and experienced scientist with a strong theoretical-physics academic background
• Active involvement in research or advanced academic activity
• An existing professional relationship with CERN or its theoretical-physics programmes
• Continued employment by the home institute during the appointment
• Age below CERN's retirement age by the application deadline

• The hybrid associateship lasts up to 12 months and may be extendable to 24 months
• The published net monthly subsistence allowance ranges from CHF 6,683 to CHF 9,465
