Job Description

Supports UNHCR’s donor care and development work by producing communications across email, direct mail, web, WhatsApp, social media and telemarketing channels. The internship analyses engagement and donor data, coordinates external creative and mailing vendors, supports donor events and enquiries, and helps strengthen retention, loyalty and relationships with individual supporters.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Produce online and offline donor communications for engagement and retention across email, direct mail, web, WhatsApp, social media and telemarketing
  • Research and develop donor communication materials using UNHCR media resources and platforms
  • Manage and analyse engagement across online and offline donor communication channels
  • Liaise with vendors and review printing, mailing and creative-service performance
  • Update reports from donor communication platforms including Selligent
  • Plan and support donor events
  • Monitor, analyse and consolidate donor data from internal and external platforms
  • Manage donor enquiries when required

Role Requirements

  • Current enrolment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate programme, or graduation from such a programme within the previous two years
  • Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant or of interest to UNHCR
  • No prior UNHCR internships that exhaust the cumulative maximum of eight months full-time or twelve months part-time
  • English at B2 level
  • Eligibility to reside and work legally in Malaysia throughout the internship

  • Target start date is 1 September 2026
  • Hardship level A and family duty station
  • UNHCR reimburses authorised economy travel to and from the duty station when external sponsorship does not cover it
  • Interns are responsible for visas, residence permits, medical certification and applicable taxation costs
  • Proof of health insurance for the duty station and a certificate of good health are required
