The specialist coordinates the Italy–Africa Digital Development Flagship across countries and partners, assuring project quality, donor alignment, risk management and delivery while consolidating programme learning on digital infrastructure, identity, agritech and data governance.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate programme components across participating countries and maintain strategic coherence
  • Engage Italian ministries, UNDP country offices, national counterparts and private-sector partners
  • Review project documents and deliverables for quality, donor alignment and national relevance
  • Adapt project proposals to evolving donor formats, guidelines and expectations
  • Guide implementation, resolve bottlenecks and track delivery against agreed results
  • Identify operational, political and reputational risks and advise senior management
  • Prepare programme reports, briefs and updates for internal and external stakeholders
  • Capture cross-country lessons and develop knowledge products for scaling digital development

Requirements

  • Master's degree in international development, economics, public policy, political science, environmental studies or a related field, or bachelor's degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
  • At least seven years with a master's degree or nine years with a bachelor's degree in programme and project management
  • Experience managing multi-country programmes with international organisations or development partners
  • Experience planning, implementing, monitoring and reporting donor-funded programmes
  • Experience coordinating governments and international partners while delivering under tight timelines
  • Fluency in English
