Job Description
Provides specialist legal and policy support to UNDP and the Team of Experts in implementing Ukraine’s framework on preventing and responding to conflict-related sexual violence. The role monitors criminal-law reforms and court practice, advises national justice institutions, supports expert deployments and capacity building, and develops analysis on accountability and case law.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Monitor Ukrainian criminal-law and justice reforms, reparations and trafficking legislation relevant to conflict-related sexual violence
- Analyse legislative initiatives against international standards and identify areas for improvement
- Liaise with Ukrainian justice authorities and support the preparation of expert deployments
- Facilitate capacity-building initiatives on the investigation and prosecution of conflict-related sexual violence
- Monitor related judicial proceedings and refer relevant judgments to the CRSV Jurisprudence Database
- Prepare updates on CRSV cases and disseminate relevant international and national decisions
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in Political Science, International Relations, International Economics, Law, Public Administration or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree in those fields with two additional years of qualifying experience
- At least seven years of relevant professional experience with a master’s degree, or nine years with a bachelor’s degree
- At least three years of experience with the Ukrainian criminal justice system
- In-depth knowledge of Ukrainian criminal law and public prosecution
- Demonstrated ability to draft legal materials in English
- Fluency in English
- Eligible under UNDP’s Tier 0, 1 or 2 application process
Desired Criteria
- Experience working in the UN or other complex organisations
- Experience in conflict or post-conflict settings
- Experience working on conflict-related sexual violence issues
