Job Description

Leads WFP Myanmar emergency preparedness and resource-transfer work. The officer plans food and cash distributions, targets vulnerable communities, coordinates teams and partners, and manages budgets, access and donor engagement. The role integrates protection, nutrition, gender, accountability, cash transfers and monitoring to deliver crisis assistance during conflict and shocks.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Manage all unconditional resource-transfer and emergency-preparedness activities
  • Plan monthly food and cash distributions based on available resources
  • Lead targeting and prioritisation of vulnerable groups with the Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping team
  • Coordinate finance, supply-chain, budget, programming and area-office teams
  • Lead preparedness and response to unforeseen emergencies
  • Integrate nutrition, protection, gender, accountability, monitoring, cash transfers and identity management
  • Manage activity budgets, monitor expenditures and develop funding proposals

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in international relations, political or economic science, business administration or another relevant field; a first degree may be accepted with two additional years of related experience
  • At least three years of postgraduate professional experience in programme implementation and project management
  • Fluency in oral and written English and Burmese
  • Myanmar nationality
