Summary of Responsibilities

  • Deliver procurement services for the Pakistan country-management work programme
  • Review procurement aspects of project documents, legal agreements, assessments and board papers
  • Provide fiduciary advice and policy dialogue to strengthen procurement systems
  • Support clients to achieve value for money, integrity and improved development outcomes
  • Analyse procurement markets to develop effective procurement strategies
  • Prepare procurement reports, operational directives and policy papers
  • Develop Project Procurement Strategies for Development and conduct fiduciary assessments
  • Use electronic tools to track client exchanges and fiduciary performance metrics

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in engineering, law, procurement, finance, business, commerce or a related discipline
  • At least five years of experience as a procurement specialist or in roles with substantial procurement responsibilities
  • Knowledge of international procurement principles including value for money, sustainable procurement, strategic sourcing, market analysis and contract management
  • Knowledge of institutions and procurement reforms in borrower countries and the World Bank project cycle
  • Oral and written mastery of English
