Job Description
Supports UNDP’s Vaka Pasifika project in Tonga by turning public-financial-management evidence into accessible human-interest stories. The UN Volunteer researches themes, coordinates interviews and stakeholder consultations, verifies facts, drafts and refines publication-ready content, and helps the project team communicate how public resources and accountability affect communities and services.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Identify public-finance themes and Pacific experiences suitable for human-interest stories
- Conduct desk research and gather evidence for story development
- Coordinate interviews and document stakeholder perspectives
- Translate technical PFM information into accessible narratives
- Draft case studies and communication content from verified information
- Incorporate UNDP review feedback and prepare approved content for publication
Role Requirements
- Ability to research and translate information into accessible content
- Writing and editing skills for non-technical audiences
- Ability to fact-check and present information accurately
Desired Criteria
- Knowledge of public financial management or Pacific regional priorities
- Experience with Pacific communities, institutions or regional organisations
