Summary of Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the country-office partnerships and resource-mobilization strategy
- Analyse donor priorities, policy developments and emerging funding sources
- Build alliances with government, financial institutions, donors, civil society and private-sector partners
- Deliver resource-mobilization and government cost-sharing targets
- Develop proposals, concept notes, pitches and alternative financing models
- Prepare donor briefs, conduct partner due diligence and negotiate agreements
- Codify financing knowledge and communicate results to support project scaling
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in social policy, public policy, politics, economics, business administration, development studies or a related field, or bachelor’s degree with two additional years of experience
- At least two years of relevant experience with a master’s degree, or four years with a bachelor’s degree, focused on partnership building, business development and resource mobilization
- Experience using computers, office software, spreadsheet and database packages and web-based management systems
- Knowledge and experience in partnership building, business development and resource mobilization
- Fluency in English and Swahili
Desired Criteria
- United Nations system experience
- Experience collaborating with United Nations agencies, governments, NGOs, civil society and international organizations
- Knowledge of capacity-building theory and assessment methods
- Experience coordinating with government agencies or donors
