Operateur Radio (SOC)

Operates the United Nations security communications centre in Man, Côte d’Ivoire, maintaining secure radio and telephone links for personnel and field missions. The role tracks movements, relays urgent information, assists staff in emergencies, maintains communications equipment and records, and provides practical support for the office’s safety and security operations.

• Operate the United Nations telecommunications centre and distribute security information
• Conduct daily radio checks with offices and field radio rooms
• Relay communications between vehicles and users in areas without coverage
• Track official field missions and communicate security assistance requests
• Support staff on radio use and secure access to the communications room
• Install and programme radios and maintain call records and equipment inventories
• Maintain and distribute communications and information-technology equipment

• Secondary education
• Valid driving licence
• At least three years of relevant professional experience in communication and telecommunications
• Experience using computers, office software packages and web-based management systems
• Experience using HF and VHF radios
• Fluency in French

• Previous experience with the United Nations system or an international NGO
• Experience using radio communication systems and knowledge of national security codes
• Experience managing crises and security situations
• Knowledge of Côte d'Ivoire security measures and rules
