Summary of Responsibilities
- Operate the United Nations telecommunications centre and distribute security information
- Conduct daily radio checks with offices and field radio rooms
- Relay communications between vehicles and users in areas without coverage
- Track official field missions and communicate security assistance requests
- Support staff on radio use and secure access to the communications room
- Install and programme radios and maintain call records and equipment inventories
- Maintain and distribute communications and information-technology equipment
Role Requirements
- Secondary education
- Valid driving licence
- At least three years of relevant professional experience in communication and telecommunications
- Experience using computers, office software packages and web-based management systems
- Experience using HF and VHF radios
- Fluency in French
Desired Criteria
- Previous experience with the United Nations system or an international NGO
- Experience using radio communication systems and knowledge of national security codes
- Experience managing crises and security situations
- Knowledge of Côte d'Ivoire security measures and rules
