Job Description

Provide on-call, rotating-shift security coverage for the UN House in Sarajevo, protecting personnel, visitors, premises and assets. The guard will control pedestrian and vehicle access, patrol facilities, operate control-centre and screening systems, respond to emergencies, maintain incident and key logs, and enforce UN security procedures without a guaranteed minimum number of working hours.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Control pedestrian and vehicle access to UN House facilities
  • Screen visitors, vehicles and equipment and prevent unauthorized access
  • Patrol internal areas, perimeter, access points and parking areas
  • Inspect premises and report security-equipment or infrastructure deficiencies
  • Operate the security control centre and emergency communication systems
  • Respond to incidents and implement emergency and contingency procedures
  • Maintain security logbooks and provide event-security support
  • Participate in security briefings, drills and training activities

Role Requirements

  • Secondary education
  • At least 2 years of security-field experience
  • Experience in access control, video monitoring, patrolling and protection of premises and assets
  • Experience in security reporting, record-keeping and maintenance of logbooks and incident documentation
  • Experience working with Windows and Microsoft Office applications

Desired Criteria

  • Professional training, certification or licensing for physical-security services
  • Experience responding to fire, medical, evacuation and security emergencies
  • Experience providing security services to international organizations or diplomatic missions
