Job Description

Manage day-to-day IT and telecommunications services for the IFRC Ebola response delegation in Bunia, maintaining secure infrastructure and user support while strengthening National Society technology capacity, connectivity and emergency communications.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Maintain IT and telecommunications infrastructure, equipment and local services
  • Configure end-user devices and manage equipment lifecycle and inventory
  • Provide first-line technical support and manage incidents through the service desk
  • Maintain networks, server availability, connectivity and wireless environments
  • Train users on digital literacy, Microsoft services, data security and cybersecurity
  • Advise and support National Society IT infrastructure and capacity development
  • Assess equipment needs and support compliant procurement and deployment
  • Manage mobile, satellite and radio communications services

Role Requirements

  • Relevant university degree in information technology or equivalent technical qualification and work experience
  • At least five years of information-technology experience
  • At least three years of experience with LAN, WAN, TCP/IP connectivity, email, applications and user support
  • Experience with inventory management and capacity building
  • Experience installing and maintaining radio and satellite telecommunications systems
  • Proficiency supporting Windows and Microsoft 365
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and French

Desired Criteria

  • Red Cross or Red Crescent work experience
  • Database management, web-design, programming or internet-technology skills
  • Knowledge of another IFRC official language
