Job Description

Provides international technical expertise to assess how digital tools, including AI, can help Sierra Leone's pre-primary and primary teachers adopt new teaching materials and a structured pedagogical approach. The consultancy evaluates needs and recommends practical next steps, such as tools, content, training or targeted investments, to strengthen teacher capacity and learning delivery.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Conduct a needs assessment on how digital tools and AI can support uptake of teaching and learning materials
  • Assess support needs for pre-primary and primary teachers and head teachers using the structured pedagogical approach
  • Analyse findings to identify options for new tools, content, training and small-scale investments
  • Provide technical support that informs next steps for teacher digital support in Sierra Leone

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in education, blended learning, pedagogy and instructional design, education technology, economics, public policy and administration, or information and communication technology
  • At least 5 years of experience in blended learning, education technology and teacher capacity development
  • Excellent spoken and written English language skills

Desired Criteria

  • Relevant work experience in African contexts
