Overview

Directs the Somalia Early Warnings for All project, coordinating delivery, finance, procurement, safeguards, risk management and reporting. The manager leads the project team and works with government, UN pillar agencies, donors and regional partners to deliver climate-resilience results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic planning and day-to-day delivery of the Early Warnings for All project
  • Manage workplans, budgets, procurement, contracts and project personnel
  • Monitor results, GCF indicators, co-financing, safeguards and the Gender Action Plan
  • Maintain risk controls, audit readiness and donor reporting
  • Coordinate technical quality with the Chief Technical Adviser and project partners
  • Manage government communications, Project Board meetings and grievance mechanisms
  • Develop knowledge products, lessons learned and a sustainability and exit strategy

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of experience
  • At least five years of progressive project development and management experience with a master’s degree, or seven years with a bachelor’s degree
  • Experience managing climate adaptation projects valued above USD 5 million
  • Fluency in English and Somali
