Responsibilities

  • Lead country programme planning and development
  • Support the Representative in managing the Iran Country Office
  • Monitor programme quality and continuity across development and humanitarian work
  • Steer emergency preparedness, response and recovery in a volatile operating environment
  • Integrate humanitarian, development and peacebuilding approaches across programmes
  • Build alliances and coordinate with the United Nations system
  • Strengthen private-sector engagement, innovation, knowledge management and capacity building

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in social sciences, international relations, government and public relations, public or social policy, sociology, social or community development, or another relevant technical field
  • For eligible internal staff only, a first-level university degree with two additional years of relevant experience may replace the advanced degree
  • Eight years of international-level professional development experience combining technical and managerial leadership, including experience in a developing country
  • Fluency in English
