Overview

Leads the Integrated Office supporting the Deputy Special Representative, Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Afghanistan, overseeing development-pillar coordination, aid coherence, resource mobilisation and cross-pillar humanitarian-development-peace support.

Responsibilities

  • Support the DSRSG/RC/HC in carrying out mandate responsibilities
  • Lead and implement the Integrated Office work programme
  • Coordinate aid architecture, accountability mechanisms, resource mobilisation and international engagement
  • Oversee substantive coordination support to the Integrated Office and UN Country Team
  • Manage budgets, reporting, results-based budgeting inputs and staff performance processes
  • Supervise, guide, develop and recruit staff across relevant sections
  • Represent the Integrated Office in national, regional and international meetings
  • Use data analysis to support planning, decision-making and reporting

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in business or public administration, finance, sustainable development, education, social sciences or a related field, or a first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
  • At least fifteen years of experience in strategic planning, sustainable development policy, project or programme management and resource mobilisation in development cooperation or a related area
  • Minimum five years of experience in conflict, post-conflict or transitional settings
  • Experience in humanitarian, development and peace nexus coordination
  • Relevant experience in the United Nations system or a comparable international organisation
  • Experience coordinating external partnerships in a development or transition context
  • English is required
