Responsibilities
- Set strategic direction for earthquake preparedness, response and recovery
- Lead and supervise multidisciplinary emergency teams under demanding conditions
- Provide technical leadership across UNICEF programme sectors
- Represent UNICEF with government, the United Nations Country Team and humanitarian coordination bodies
- Guide emergency projects and ensure coherent delivery for affected children and families
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in social science, public administration, international law, international relations, social planning, emergency or rehabilitation programming, or a related field
- At least ten years of progressively responsible professional experience in emergency or rehabilitation programmes
- Demonstrated people-supervision experience
- Emergency cluster or extensive inter-agency coordination experience
- Experience working in politically sensitive environments
- Fluency in Spanish and English
