Emergency Manager

The Emergency Manager sets the strategic direction for UNICEF Venezuela’s earthquake response, leads multidisciplinary teams, strengthens preparedness, guides sector operations, and represents UNICEF with government, the UN Country Team and humanitarian coordination bodies.

• Set strategic direction for earthquake preparedness, response and recovery
• Lead and supervise multidisciplinary emergency teams under demanding conditions
• Provide technical leadership across UNICEF programme sectors
• Represent UNICEF with government, the United Nations Country Team and humanitarian coordination bodies
• Guide emergency projects and ensure coherent delivery for affected children and families

• Advanced university degree in social science, public administration, international law, international relations, social planning, emergency or rehabilitation programming, or a related field
• At least ten years of progressively responsible professional experience in emergency or rehabilitation programmes
• Demonstrated people-supervision experience
• Emergency cluster or extensive inter-agency coordination experience
• Experience working in politically sensitive environments
• Fluency in Spanish and English
