The Child Protection Officer strengthens Venezuela’s post-earthquake alternative-care response for unaccompanied and separated children by improving identification, case management, interim family-based care and reunification protocols, partner capacity and programme monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Support identification and registration of unaccompanied and separated children
  • Strengthen case-management, referral and follow-up procedures
  • Develop interim and alternative family-based care arrangements
  • Support family tracing and safe reunification processes
  • Provide technical assistance to government and child-protection partners
  • Monitor programme implementation and strengthen partner capacity

Requirements

  • First-level university degree in social work, child psychology or a related field
  • At least two years of child-protection programming experience related to interim or alternative care
  • Knowledge of international child-protection standards and guidelines
  • Fluency in Spanish and English
