Biodiversity and Natural Resource Management Portfolio Manager

Leads UNDP Kyrgyzstan's biodiversity and natural-resource portfolio, shaping policy and projects, overseeing implementation and finance, mobilising resources, building partnerships and strengthening national capacity to protect ecosystems and deliver nature-based, climate-resilient development.

Department: Climate, Environment and Energy Cluster

• Advise national stakeholders on biodiversity and integrated natural-resource policies
• Design and coordinate biodiversity, nature-based solutions and GEF-funded interventions
• Prepare project documents, terms of reference, proposals and implementation plans
• Monitor portfolio delivery, finance, risks and corporate reporting in Quantum
• Develop donor strategies, concept notes and funding proposals
• Build partnerships with government, UN entities, investors and development partners
• Integrate gender equality throughout portfolio activities
• Deliver training, workshops and knowledge-sharing initiatives for national counterparts

• Master's degree in environmental studies, science, economics, social sciences, international relations, development studies or a related field, or a bachelor's degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
• At least five years of relevant experience with a master's degree or seven years with a bachelor's degree in environmental development projects, biodiversity or natural-resource management
• At least two years of team-management experience
• Experience working with government institutions or civil-society organisations
• Experience drafting proposals and results-focused reports
• Fluency in English and Russian
