Overview

Lead UNDP Kyrgyzstan’s climate action portfolio across adaptation, mitigation, resilience and natural-resource management. The manager shapes strategy and projects, oversees delivery and reporting, mobilises resources, coordinates partners and strengthens national capacity for low-carbon, resilient development.

Responsibilities

  • Advise national partners on climate adaptation, mitigation and resilience interventions
  • Align climate action with national, United Nations and UNDP strategic frameworks
  • Design projects, terms of reference, proposals and implementation modalities
  • Oversee programme delivery, workplans, financial status, risks and results reporting
  • Manage GEF-funded projects and their performance reporting
  • Develop resource-mobilisation strategies and donor relationships
  • Coordinate government, civil-society, United Nations and development partners
  • Strengthen national capacity through training, knowledge products and South-South cooperation

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in environmental studies, science, economics, social sciences, international relations, development studies or a related field, or a relevant first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
  • At least five years of relevant experience with an advanced degree or seven years with a first-level degree in development-project design, management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation in environment, climate change or natural-resources management
  • At least two years of experience managing teams
  • Experience working with government institutions or civil-society organisations
  • Ability to draft proposals and results-focused reports
  • Experience with international organisations and senior national or local government officials
  • Fluency in English and Russian
