Responsibilities

  • Develop a national foundational literacy and numeracy policy for Nigeria
  • Prepare an implementation plan for the foundational learning policy
  • Review gaps identified in the foundational learning landscape analysis and related implementation evidence
  • Coordinate policy development with the Federal Ministry of Education, state governments and education partners
  • Map the number and locations of non-formal learning centres
  • Translate evidence into practical advice for government and education stakeholders

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in education development, foundational learning, sustainable development, education policy, teacher training, international relations or a related field
  • At least eight years of experience improving learning quality, ideally through curriculum, learning materials, teacher development or basic education pedagogy
  • Experience supporting government-led education reform in Sub-Saharan Africa or a context comparable to Nigeria
  • Experience developing, implementing and scaling approaches that improve learning quality in basic education
  • Fluency in English
