Responsibilities

  • Review national school-safety policies, guidelines and education-in-emergencies resources
  • Develop a practical guide covering risk, preparedness, early warning and violence prevention
  • Produce gender-responsive, disability-inclusive and conflict-sensitive IEC materials
  • Facilitate a technical review and validation workshop with education stakeholders
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback into final guide and IEC packages
  • Submit inception, workshop and final consultancy reports
  • Deliver validated print-ready and editable versions of all materials

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Education, Education in Emergencies, Development Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, Sociology, Child Protection, Social Sciences, Communication for Development, Public Policy or a related field
  • At least five years of experience developing practical guides, training materials, IEC materials or policy implementation tools for education, child protection, school safety or humanitarian programmes
  • Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments, including school-safety risk assessments
  • Experience supporting national initiatives for safe and inclusive access to education
  • Demonstrated experience engaging stakeholders across government tiers, communities and marginalised groups
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
