Overview
The Operations Specialist is UNMAS CAR’s technical focal point for weapons and ammunition management in Bangui. The role strengthens national capacity through training, stockpile risk assessment, quality assurance, regulatory guidance and coordination, reducing diversion and accidental-explosion risks.

Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver weapons and ammunition management training
- Conduct quality assurance inspections against ammunition safety standards
- Lead stockpile risk assessments and mitigation planning
- Advise on explosive-facility rehabilitation and technical compliance
- Review workplans for stockpile verification and destruction
- Coordinate national security counterparts and integrate gender and safeguarding standards
Requirements
- Master’s degree with five years, bachelor’s degree with seven years, or high school diploma with eleven years of relevant experience
- Ammunition Technical Officer certification meeting IATG 01.90 Level 4 or equivalent
- At least five years of relevant experience
- At least five years of practical ammunition-management experience including two years in an advisory role
- Report-writing experience
- Fluency in English
