Overview

Supports schools in applying child-protection systems, reporting pathways and referral procedures across São Tomé and Príncipe. The consultant will turn national guidance into practical school-level processes, strengthen local ownership and feed implementation lessons back to UNICEF and education authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Operationalise child-protection interventions in pre-primary, primary and secondary schools
  • Coordinate implementation with UNICEF, education authorities and the international consultant
  • Translate national policies, tools and referral procedures into practical school-level processes
  • Support schools in applying prevention, reporting, referral and case-management mechanisms
  • Facilitate implementation feedback between schools and central-level actors
  • Adapt interventions to local school and community contexts while maintaining technical standards
  • Strengthen school and community ownership so child-protection mechanisms become routine practice

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, child protection, law or a related field
  • At least two years of experience in child protection, child development or a related field
  • Experience in training facilitation
  • Knowledge of local systems
  • Experience in community-based work
  • Fluency in Portuguese
