Job Description
Designs and delivers specialised maritime law-enforcement training for UNODC's Global Maritime Crime Programme across Bangladesh, Maldives and Sri Lanka. The consultant develops Visit, Board, Search and Seizure course materials and exercises, strengthens practical navigation, evidence-handling and equipment capabilities, and reports on training outcomes that support safer and more effective maritime interdiction.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Design and deliver VBSS courses for integrated training-package exercises
- Prepare training materials, practical scenarios, participant assessments and post-training reports
- Train counterparts on specialized VBSS equipment and hidden-compartment searches
- Deliver courses on crime-scene documentation, evidence handling and report writing
- Deliver RHIB maintenance training in Kirinda
- Develop the updated VBSS curriculum with UNODC GMCP staff
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in criminal justice, criminology, law, political science, management or a related field
- At least seven years of boat-operator experience including navigation
- Maritime or riverine working experience
- Experience training maritime or riverine law-enforcement officers in an international environment
- Proven report-writing skills
- Fluency in oral and written English
Desired Criteria
- Broad understanding of the maritime situation in the Indian Ocean
- Experience working in South Asia
