Job Description
Three online volunteers will enhance the MoralityCode mobile app's backend, user experience and security in separate workstreams. Together they will improve data integrity, accessibility, offline performance, AI-assisted ethical reasoning and deployment reliability, helping the ethical decision-making platform become more stable, inclusive and useful for global users.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Build a data-validation pipeline for dilemma and content structures
- Introduce caching to improve performance for frequently accessed data
- Optimise database queries and backend logic for lower latency and scalability
- Improve adaptive UI accessibility, responsiveness and personalisation
- Enhance navigation flow and interface consistency across app screens
- Add offline-first functionality with data synchronisation after reconnection
- Set up a CI/CD pipeline with automated testing and deployment
- Strengthen role-based access control, authentication and data protection
Role Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
- Intermediate-to-advanced proficiency in Python
- Experience with VS Code and Jupyter Notebook
- Proven app-development and deployment skills
- Hands-on experience with Kivy and Buildozer
- Access to a laptop and stable internet connection
Desired Criteria
- Familiarity with Canadian and African spiritual or moral traditions is a plus
- Interest in human-centred, ethical or spiritually informed technology
- Relevant technical, research or cultural knowledge for the assigned workstream
