Job Description

Monitors and analyses global, regional and national media for UN Women, identifying narratives, trends and reputational risks affecting gender equality and women’s rights. The consultant provides timely intelligence and reporting, social-media insights and strategic storytelling support, manages media contacts and platforms, and helps position UN Women during campaigns, crises and high-visibility moments.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Monitor global, regional and national media and social-media platforms
  • Produce daily media analysis, summaries and engagement insights
  • Track social-media conversations, influencers and high-impact content
  • Maintain media contacts, inquiry records and outreach platforms
  • Identify story angles and media opportunities
  • Support media-platform subscriptions and vendor coordination

Role Requirements

  • Master's degree in communications, media, international relations or a related field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
  • At least two years of experience in media analysis, digital communications or a related field
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in reputational monitoring and crisis communications
  • Experience in an international or multilateral environment
