Junior Programme Assistant – Education for Health and Well-being

Supports UNESCO South Africa’s Education for Health and Well-being programme, with emphasis on gender equality, safe learning and school-related gender-based violence. The UN Volunteer coordinates activities, youth participation, digital advocacy, monitoring, reporting, events, procurement and programme records.

• Coordinate education, health and well-being programme activities and logistics
• Support United Nations gender and youth theme-group inputs and joint initiatives
• Engage youth networks and learners in gender-violence prevention programming
• Organize consultations, peer learning and safe-learning advocacy activities
• Develop digital content on gender equality, online safety and violence prevention
• Document programme results, stories, photographs and videos with safeguarding consent
• Compile monitoring information, reports, briefs and knowledge products
• Process travel, procurement, payments, correspondence and programme records

• Education in social sciences, international relations, public administration, development studies or a related field; relevant diploma holders are considered
• Interest or experience in project administration, programme coordination, education, youth development, health and well-being or development cooperation
• Administrative, report-writing, records-management and event-coordination skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Teams
• English language ability
