Asesoría técnica para el fortalecimiento de capacidades en derechos de las mujeres, economía del cuidado y empoderamiento económico

Provides technical advice and capacity building to public institutions and civil society on women’s economic empowerment and the care economy. The assignment develops territorial dialogue, knowledge products and practical tools that advance gender-responsive local development in Guatemala.

Department: Área de Empoderamiento Económico

• Plan, implement, monitor and evaluate assigned women’s economic empowerment initiatives
• Design territorial dialogue methods and supporting materials for replication
• Develop advocacy arguments and recommendations on care-economy policy
• Facilitate capacity building for public officials and territorial stakeholders
• Produce programme reports, knowledge products and methodological guidance
• Coordinate agreements and follow-up with partners and donors
• Support strategic communication and cultural-change activities on shared care responsibilities
• Manage operational logistics in compliance with UN Women procedures

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Social Sciences or a related field
• At least five years of national or international experience advising or managing programmes on women’s economic empowerment, local development, territorial development or poverty reduction
• At least one year of experience in human rights, women’s rights or women’s economic empowerment
• Intermediate spoken and written English
• Guatemalan nationality or legal residence in Guatemala
• Availability for full-time, mainly in-person work and travel within Guatemala

• Seven deliverables are scheduled from September 2026 to March 2027
• Payment is made upon satisfactory approval of each deliverable
• The consultant must maintain medical insurance throughout the contract
• Official project travel costs are covered by UN Women when authorised
