Job Description

Supports UNRWA Legal Affairs in Amman through legal research, document drafting and review across contracts, procurement, donor financing, administrative law and public international law. The intern contributes to advice, governance documentation, training and meeting support, while developing practical exposure to humanitarian, refugee, employment and international legal issues.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Draft and review legal documents, correspondence, briefing papers and reports
  • Provide legal advice and analysis on contracts, procurement, donor financing and project agreements
  • Research administrative-law issues and cases before UNRWA and UN appeals tribunals
  • Research public international law, human rights, humanitarian and refugee law
  • Review legal matters related to UNRWA governance and administrative issuances
  • Support trainings, events and meetings through note-taking and summary reports

Role Requirements

  • Enrolment in a graduate law programme, final academic year of a bachelor-level law programme, or graduation with a university degree within one year of internship commencement
  • Computer literacy in standard software applications
  • Fluency in spoken and written English

Desired Criteria

  • Specialisation in international, commercial, labour or administrative law
  • Knowledge of Arabic
