Job Description

Creates multimedia stories for the UN Resident Coordinator Office in Kenya, documenting development results, events and priorities for digital audiences. The intern researches ideas, plans and films interviews, edits accessible video products and coordinates field production, while maintaining consent-aware media assets that strengthen UN Kenya communications, advocacy and inter-agency campaigns.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Research story ideas connecting Sustainable Development Goals with Kenya’s priorities
  • Prepare interview questions, scripts, shot lists and storyboards
  • Film interviews, events and supporting footage using available production equipment
  • Edit footage for web and social-media formats
  • Add subtitles, captions, graphics, transitions, music and sound design
  • Create motion graphics and data-led multimedia explainers
  • Support field documentation and coordinate practical production requirements
  • Maintain video, photo, audio and design files with metadata, consent records and version control

Role Requirements

  • Have completed and graduated from a recognised university degree programme at bachelor's, master's or doctoral level
  • Demonstrate ability to plan, film and edit video or multimedia content
  • Provide a portfolio or showreel identifying the applicant’s contribution to each sample
  • Write clear, concise English for digital and public audiences and check facts, names, titles, captions and credits
  • Have working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or another professional video-editing application
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Working knowledge of Kiswahili is highly desirable for interviews, field documentation and audience-focused storytelling
  • Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage

Additional Information

  • Full-time in-person internship in Nairobi for six months
