Responsibilities

  • Lead research and investigation of sexual and gender-based violence allegations
  • Interview victims and witnesses and corroborate violations of human-rights and criminal law
  • Use open-source, mapping and satellite material to geolocate and authenticate incidents
  • Identify alleged perpetrators using agreed investigative methods
  • Protect survivors and witnesses through do-no-harm and referral measures
  • Securely preserve investigation information and documentation
  • Produce gender analysis and draft findings for mandate reports

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in law, political science, international relations, social science or a related field, or the stated first-degree alternative with qualifying experience
  • At least five years of progressively responsible human-rights experience
  • At least two years conducting human-rights investigations
  • English at UN Level III
