Responsibilities

  • Develop the assignment methodology, analytical framework, consultation plan and quality-assurance approach
  • Review evidence on gender-responsive trade, labour, procurement, services, digital trade and sustainable development
  • Map Asia-Pacific and transcontinental trade agreements, provisions and implementation mechanisms
  • Interview trade stakeholders and validate UN Women’s strategic approach and programme options
  • Identify practical entry points for women-owned businesses, procurement, buyer linkages and public-private action
  • Design an actionable framework with implementation pathways, institutional roles and monitoring indicators
  • Define UN Women’s value proposition and map complementary government, business and development partners
  • Prepare a donor-facing programme proposal with results, activities, partnerships, risks and budget logic

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in international trade, economics, law, public policy, international development, gender studies, business, political economy or a related field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
  • At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in international trade, trade policy, trade agreements, economic development, gender equality, private-sector development or women’s economic empowerment
  • Experience analysing trade agreements and associated implementation mechanisms
  • Experience integrating gender equality into trade, procurement, entrepreneurship, labour, value-chain or market-systems programming
  • Experience in Asia and the Pacific, including ASEAN or South Asia
  • Experience developing strategic frameworks, policy analysis, donor proposals, programme documents, results frameworks and implementation roadmaps
  • Excellent written and spoken English
