Reproductive Health/Gender-Based Violence Coordinator

Coordinates UNFPA reproductive-health and gender-based-violence programmes across three Afghan provinces, overseeing partners, field monitoring, quality and safeguarding while strengthening humanitarian coordination, referral pathways, capacity building and evidence-based reporting.

• Coordinate implementation of reproductive-health and gender-based-violence activities across three provincial areas
• Serve as the field focal point for maternal health, youth, humanitarian and gender-based-violence programming
• Monitor field delivery and provide technical feedback to implementing partners
• Assess service needs and gaps and integrate gender-based-violence concerns into wider assessments
• Coordinate with UN agencies, NGOs and local authorities on humanitarian and protection interventions
• Deliver capacity-building activities for health providers, protection networks and partner personnel
• Operationalise safeguarding standards, service maps and referral pathways through inter-agency mechanisms
• Track programme evidence and prepare situation updates, progress reports and donor reports

• Advanced university degree in sociology, anthropology, social sciences, gender studies, public health, public administration, international relations, international development, law or a related field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
• At least two years of relevant experience with a master’s degree, or four years with a bachelor’s degree, in reproductive health, gender-based-violence programming, protection, gender or humanitarian response
• Fluency in English
• Fluency in Dari or Pashto
• Afghan nationality

• Three posts cover Mazar-i-Sharif, Bamyan and Faizabad
• Appointment is open only to nationals of Afghanistan
