Job Description

Coordinates IOM country-office human-resources functions, supporting staff administration, payroll, recruitment, performance management and learning. The role works with management, regional teams and headquarters to apply HR policies, maintain controls and improve workforce services.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Review and monitor country-office HR services against IOM policies
  • Supervise personnel files, attendance records and HR databases
  • Administer local staff contracts, entitlements and payroll processes
  • Coordinate recruitment and onboarding for staff and non-staff vacancies
  • Support performance management, staff development and training
  • Prepare HR reports and implement audit recommendations
  • Coordinate HR matters with headquarters, regional and administrative centres
  • Monitor visas, residence permits and benefits administration for international staff

Role Requirements

  • Master’s degree in human resources, business administration, industrial and organizational psychology, social sciences or a related field with two years of relevant experience, or university degree with four years
  • High computer literacy and experience with HR IT systems and applications
  • Experience preparing training modules and delivering training sessions
  • Fluency in English and Spanish

Desired Criteria

  • Previous international-organization experience
  • Familiarity with the UN common system
  • Working knowledge of Arabic, Chinese, French or Russian
