Job Description
Provides technical, operational and administrative support to UNICEF’s health programme in Kano, with a focus on polio eradication, immunisation strengthening and maternal and child health. The officer contributes to programme planning, delivery monitoring, partnerships and evidence-based response to disease outbreaks.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Support development planning for the Health Programme
- Manage programme implementation and monitor delivery of health results
- Provide technical and operational support for polio-eradication activities
- Monitor disease outbreaks and support response planning
- Strengthen immunisation programmes and zero-dose reduction
- Build partnerships for maternal and child health programming
Role Requirements
- University degree in public health, nutrition, paediatric health, family health, health research, global or international health, health policy and management, environmental health sciences, biostatistics, socio-medical studies, health education, epidemiology or a related technical field
- At least two years of professional experience in public health or nutrition planning and management, maternal and neonatal health care, or health emergency and humanitarian preparedness
- Fluency in English
- National-officer and general-service candidates must already hold the required visa and work authorisation
Desired Criteria
- Experience with a United Nations system agency or organisation
- Country-level experience in development, fragile settings or humanitarian contexts
