Supports integrated health and nutrition programming in eastern Syria through situation analysis, planning, implementation monitoring, partner coordination and reporting. The officer strengthens programme quality, accountability, emergency readiness and delivery of results for children in a fragile humanitarian setting.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Analyse health and nutrition conditions, disparities and programme performance
  • Contribute to programme planning, design and results frameworks
  • Monitor implementation, budgets, outputs and partner performance
  • Apply statistical and programme data to identify risks and corrective actions
  • Coordinate with government, implementing partners and humanitarian actors
  • Support partner capacity building and technical guidance
  • Strengthen emergency preparedness and response for health and nutrition services
  • Prepare donor reports, programme updates and knowledge products

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, nutrition, medicine, nursing, health sciences or a related field
  • At least two years of professional experience in child survival, health or nutrition programme planning and management
  • Familiarity with emergency programming
  • Strong analytical, statistical, project-management and technology skills
  • Fluency in English and Arabic
  • Current UNICEF staff-member status because the vacancy is advertised internally

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in field-based or humanitarian health and nutrition programming
  • Experience with cluster coordination, government systems or implementing partners
  • Knowledge of another official United Nations language or a local language
