Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Officer

IFRC officer supporting the Ebola response in eastern DRC by designing and scaling community-based mental health and psychosocial support, strengthening Red Cross staff and volunteer capacity, referral pathways, wellbeing systems and evidence-led services.

• Assess psychosocial needs, services, referral pathways, capacities and coordination mechanisms
• Design, monitor and adapt community-based MHPSS interventions with the DRC Red Cross
• Train, mentor and supervise staff, volunteers, psychologists and community facilitators
• Establish psychoeducation, group support, coping and safe-referral activities
• Strengthen staff and volunteer wellbeing through Caring for Staff and Volunteers approaches
• Develop monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning systems for service quality
• Coordinate Movement partners and represent IFRC in technical MHPSS forums

• University degree in psychology, social work, counselling or a related mental-health field
• At least three years of hands-on MHPSS programming experience
• At least three years of practical mental-health experience with individuals and groups
• Experience developing and delivering MHPSS training and capacity building
• Fluency in written and spoken English and French
