Overview
UNEP seeks a remote consultant to develop Global Environment Facility chemicals and waste proposals for GEF-9. The assignment prepares expressions of interest, framework documents and concept notes, coordinates endorsements and executing partners, identifies co-financiers and supports projects in the Caucasus and Central Asia.

Responsibilities
- Develop the GEF-9 expression of interest for a pollution-free supply-chain integrated programme
- Coordinate participating countries and obtain endorsement inputs for child projects
- Prepare programme framework documents and project concept notes
- Identify executing agencies, investment partners and other potential co-financiers
- Support project development and implementation in the Caucasus and Central Asia
- Provide technical assistance to the chemicals and waste portfolio
Requirements
- First-level or advanced university degree in environmental science, chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, environmental studies, environmental protection or a related field
- At least three years of international project-management experience, including project preparation
- Working knowledge and experience of Global Environment Facility project development and supervision
- Fluency in English with strong drafting skills
