Job Description
This six-month renewable, in-person consultancy in Deqing develops and supports UN enterprise web applications with geospatial or AI components for OICT’s Enterprise Solutions Service. The consultant builds, tests and debugs applications, documents changes, manages Git version control, supports deployed systems and contributes to requirements analysis, solution design and technology benchmarking.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Develop, program, test, debug and implement new applications with geospatial or AI components using UN standards
- Prepare technical and user documentation, training materials and technical presentations for deployed applications
- Support deployed applications through version management, troubleshooting, user reviews and response to user requests
- Contribute technical expertise to requirements analysis and solution design
- Benchmark technology developments and propose new tools and libraries
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics or a related field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
- At least three years of hands-on React and .NET Core web-application development
- At least three years of hands-on JavaScript or TypeScript experience
- At least three years of hands-on C# experience
- At least three years of hands-on SQL and REST API experience
- Authorisation to work in China; the UN will not sponsor a visa
- Fluency in spoken and written English

- Experience with Azure Functions
- Experience with AI and GIS
- Ability to travel abroad for projects
