Job Description

Provides freshwater and urban-resilience expertise for UNEP’s Global Water Resolutions project, supporting national planning, the Baku Dialogue and global water and climate forums through technical assistance, joint project concepts, guidance products and inclusive partnerships.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Integrate water priorities into national climate and biodiversity planning instruments
  • Develop joint project concepts with UN-Water and UNEP partners
  • Produce gender-responsive freshwater guidance and related webinars
  • Facilitate south-south and triangular exchanges on water resilience
  • Organise inclusive stakeholder sessions for the Baku Dialogue
  • Prepare concept notes and funding proposals for continued dialogue activities
  • Develop briefs and technical inputs for global water and climate forums
  • Track project indicators and contribute to results monitoring and reporting

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in environmental science, water resources management, urban planning, ecology or a related field, or a relevant bachelor’s degree with two additional years of experience
  • Minimum two years of professional experience in freshwater management, urban ecosystem conservation, drought resilience or climate resilience
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, multi-country or multi-partner coordination and intergovernmental or policy processes
  • Experience preparing technical briefs, guidance and meeting materials
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Familiarity with database or indicator-tracking tools
  • Basic or intermediate Spanish
