UNEP Finance Initiative Climate Adaptation and Resilience Internship

The intern will support UNEP Finance Initiative programmes on climate adaptation and resilience by researching sustainable-finance practice, coordinating financial-sector working groups and events, developing publications and learning materials, managing outreach and contributing to funding proposals.

• Research climate risk, adaptation finance, resilience measurement and sustainable-finance practice
• Synthesize literature, case studies and financial-sector approaches for programme development
• Coordinate banks, insurers, investors, development-finance institutions and technical experts
• Organise webinars, workshops, consultations and learning events
• Draft newsletters, presentations, briefing notes, publications and knowledge products
• Maintain stakeholder databases and support regional outreach and interviews
• Develop case studies, training materials and capacity-building sessions
• Research and contribute to concept notes, funding proposals and partnership materials

• Current enrolment in a graduate programme or final year of a first university degree, or commencement within one year of completing a university degree
• Academic background in economics, social sciences, natural sciences, environmental science, public policy, sustainable development, international relations, business administration, finance or a related field
• Fluency in spoken and written English

• Unpaid internship for six months
• Work may be remote or based in Geneva
• Interns or sponsoring institutions bear travel, visa, accommodation and living costs
