Overview

UN-Habitat offers a six-month Luanda internship supporting sustainable urban development, housing and solid-waste initiatives through project concepts, partner outreach, indicator tracking, field and design work, data analysis, circular-economy pilots and municipal coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project concepts and identify community opportunities for resource mobilisation
  • Prepare partner and donor meetings, outreach tools and stakeholder communications
  • Track indicators and support UN-Habitat portfolio implementation
  • Prepare layouts, calculations, drawings and visual aids for urban projects
  • Collect and analyse urban, housing and waste-management data
  • Support field inspections and community-based recycling initiatives
  • Coordinate integrated solid-waste solutions with municipalities and local stakeholders

Requirements

  • Current enrolment in or completion of a graduate programme, or enrolment in or completion of the final year of a first university degree
  • Academic background in architecture, civil engineering, urban planning, community mobilisation, public health, geography, environmental engineering, waste management or environmental science
  • Fluent spoken and written Portuguese
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
