Overview

Processes and controls UNHCR financial transactions while maintaining accurate records, reports and reconciliations. The associate supports budgeting, payments, banking liaison, travel and administrative operations, applies financial rules and systems, and helps manage operational risks in the country office.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile financial records, expenditures, balances, payments and statements
  • Verify and enter financial data and prepare recurring or special reports
  • Advise personnel on allowances, salary advances, travel claims and other financial matters
  • Liaise with banks on exchange rates, procedures and office accounts
  • Prepare cost estimates and support budget analysis and projections
  • Verify transactions against UNHCR financial rules and procedures
  • Support finance, administration, contract management, travel and fleet operations
  • Identify and escalate financial and operational risks

Requirements

  • High school diploma with three years of relevant experience, or bachelor’s degree or higher with two years of relevant experience
  • High IT affinity, including Microsoft Office and PeopleSoft
  • At least two years of budget and finance experience
  • Fluency in English and Spanish at B2 level or higher
  • Dominican nationality, or existing Dominican residence with valid work and residency permits
