Job Description
Supports safe IOM operations from the Benin City field office by maintaining security awareness, plans, communications and incident reporting. Working with the Field Security Officer, UNDSS, government agencies and local authorities, the associate helps manage security risks, protect personnel and assets, and keep field-office contingency and preparedness arrangements effective.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Maintain security-information links with UNDSS, host-government agencies and local authorities
- Collect, update and communicate information on the security situation
- Support development and implementation of security, contingency, emergency-response and business-continuity plans
- Follow up staff compliance with security protocols, training and clearance requirements
- Conduct office security surveys and maintain the warden system, staff lists and communications readiness
- Report security incidents affecting personnel, premises and assets and prepare security reports
- Organize security-awareness training, orientations and briefings for personnel
- Maintain confidential security files and contact databases
Role Requirements
- University degree in Security, Social Sciences, International Studies, Communications or a related field with three years of relevant professional experience, or completed High School degree with five years
- Fluency in English, oral and written
Desired Criteria
- Experience in security coordination and administrative support for an international organization
- Experience using radio communications
- Successful completion of the UNDSS Field Security Associate course
- Ability to collaborate with senior government security counterparts and stakeholders
