Job Description

Designs and delivers a three-day child-sensitive mediation training programme for government officials, diplomats and mediators in Doha. The consultant finalises training content and simulations on humanitarian ceasefires, child-soldier DDR and principled negotiation, facilitates in-person sessions, prepares an after-action report, and provides training materials and guidance notes for future use.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Review the draft mediation-training concept note
  • Finalise training content, case studies and mediation simulations
  • Deliver child-sensitive mediation content in person
  • Facilitate exercises on ceasefires, child-soldier DDR and negotiation
  • Prepare an after-action report with institutional recommendations
  • Provide outstanding training materials and guidance notes

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Law, Political Science, International Relations or a related discipline
  • At least ten years of progressively responsible experience in peace and security, mediation, political affairs, human rights, protection or data analysis
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience facilitating scenario-based exercises and simulations
  • Experience on children and armed conflict or child-sensitive mediation
  • Experience with the UN, regional organisations or government institutions
